I currently work as an interpreter for Alpine School District. As an interpreter, I am responsible for facilitating communication and culturally mediating between people who are deaf, and people who are not. As an educational interpreter, my responsibilities expand to include being a member of the educational team for students who are deaf. 

 

 

Interpretation Services Intern, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

January 2018-May 2018​

 

As an intern for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, my responsibilities included preparing work space prior to appointments, logging data into appropriate systems and assisting the floor director to manage and direct interpreters. 

 

 

Accounts Receivable Representative, Guardian Flight

June ​2016-August 2018

 

During my time at Guardian Flight, I worked with insurance companies to file medical claims and track payments for several air ambulance companies. My responsibilities also included writing appeals citing applicable laws and regulations, as well as tracking and reporting on patient accounts.

2015- present​

 

I am currently a student at Utah Valley University majoring in Deaf Studies with an emphasis in interpreting. I will graduate April of 2019 with a Bachelors Degree. ​Throughout my time at UVU I have had opportunities to be involved in student organizations including the Honor's Program and the UVU ASL Club. I have also had the chance to enroll in courses designed to improve my interpreting abilities. These classes include Sign to Voice, Simultaneous Interpreting, Consecutive Interpreting, Visual Linguistic Analysis, and more.
